Durex has added its voice to the recent debacle relating to Brett Murray's art work, "The Spear".

ANC members recently took offense to the artwork which depicts Jacob Zuma holding his fist in the air with a bright red penis dangling at his crotch.

So offended were some that two members of the public even defaced the artwork which was on display at the Goodman gallery in Joburg.

Local fastfood company Nando's is usually quickest to respond to controversial current affairs, but this time it's condom brand Durex that takes the cake.

Durex had a simple answer to all the hullabaloo - wear a condom and escape all that unnecessary controversy.
