You might think that swimsuit babes are a far cry from putrid, brain-eating zombies, but one TV show has combined the two in a post-apocalyptic photo shoot... on a sunny beach.

Several choice photographs of sexy bikini babes sporting large gash wounds across their sculpted bodies will be used in a swimsuit calendar to promote TV series The Walking Dead Season 3 which is currently showing on Top TV's Fox FX channel. The series is based on the comic strip created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.

South Africa's men's magazine FHM raved about the calendar in their blog, saying it combined two of their favourite things - bikini babes and zombies. However, Yolanda Green writer for LazyGamer.net, feels that the calendar lacks authenticity.

"I think it’s pretty safe to say that in some kind of sickish, yet acceptable way zombie chicks can look quite hot," she writes in a post on 13 November, adding that the sexy photo shoot would have been "way more awesome" if it had been shot in a derelict city.

As for the zombie makeup, Green gives the calendar a definite thumbs-down.

"Instead of looking like they were victims of a zombie attack, it rather looks like they were all in the same car accident."

Suffice is to say that the photographs were heavily adapted in post-production to look more zombie-like. (See main photo above).
