It's about a week long since the Sanlam SA fashion week past and I have been feeling inspired by the fashion I witnessed. The show is taking the average guys to new heights and the fashion is quite bold in nature. Here are a couple key emerging trends that can work for guys this summer.
It was thrilling that some of this season's key trends could be spotted both on and off the ramp. Thanks to Johannesburg's IT crowd who never disappoint when it comes to dressing up for the occasion.
While the winter season is definitely over for Joburgers — I know our brothers in the coastal areas, especially Cape Town are still witnessing a bit of the cold and rain.
The ladies have been rocking it throughout winter (or since the movie, 'The devil wears Prada'). This look is now definitely growing for the men this season — the green light is on. For the man who is not afraid to express his taste and status-quo it is such an easy look to pull look.
Tuck in your jeans at the helm into your boot, male skinny-jeans would be the best cut for this look, paired with a T-shirt for that relaxed look or shirt for a chic casual affair.
Grey is the new black!
Fashion has always been conscious of the social status-quo, and while we are still going through the recession, fashion designers across the globe have been showing a lot of their collection with the main colour being grey. Even some of the key retailers are in on the game. Fashion is truly showing respect for such serious times and the main colour to be spotted in this season. So whatever you do — grey is a must, for your cardigan, jeans or anything else for that matter.
Locally, you can check-out Carducci, as they featured some of the best suits in their latest fashion showing, very much in trend and in-season, with their perfectly cut suits with high-water pants and the season's colour grey — very stylish. If you are a man looking for an super-premium look that won't send you straight into recession these guys know what they are doing.

I must admit that this look is quite bold and will need men with balls to pull-off. Marc Jacobs, Carducci and Craig Port have embraced this look and its looking killer.
If you still need entry to the trend, start by folding your pants at the hemlines just above your ankles, and you will be in on the look and good to go.
