Californian resident Mayra Lissette Contreras has died of respiratory complications after having silicone injections administered into her buttocks by two fake plastic surgeons.

Contreras was only 22-years-old and had gone to the home of Alejandra and Guadalupe Viveros who were conducting the illegal cosmetic surgery procedures. The pair would advertise their services on small posters at nearby shopping malls.

Now, following the death of Contreras and their subsequent arrest and release on bail, the sisters are on the run.

Medical experts warn that silicone should be implanted, not injected and that illegal practices like the one the Viveros sisters were running from their home is very dangerous.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Michael Kane from New York told CBS News, " These buttock injections are usually done by unlicensed people, because I don't know any licensed professional who would inject large amounts of silicone into the body."

Infections, hardening of body parts and even death are the results of botched cosmetic surgery.

Plastic surgery should be performed by a qualified medical surgeon who understands the potential risk of the surgery and who also takes into account their patient's health status before conducting surgery.

Brazillian model Sheyla Hershey, famous for her KKK breast implants has also recently succumbed to a life-threatening infection due to a surgical procedure she her original plastic surgeon advised her not to undergo. Hershey decided to seek a surgeon who would perform the dangerous job and sadly, fell ill soon after the surgery was complete.
