Lunar New Year gets special Johnnie
Mon, 16 Feb 2015 10:12 AMTo mark the Chinese New Year, Johnnie Walker & Sons has released a limited edition series of bottles that fete the Year of the Ram.
Designed as a quartet, when four of the Johnnie Walker bottles are placed side by side, the image of a ram unfolds in the manner of a Chinese scroll painting.
The brand has also released a limited edition of its King George V whisky which will be sold exclusively at duty free stores around the world during Chinese New Year, reports Luxurylaunches.com.
Released to mark the 80th anniversary of the Royal Warrant, the collector’s edition of King George V comes in a burgundy box embossed with chandelier motifs.
The Royal Warrant is granted to companies who have regularly supplied goods or services for a minimum of five years to The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh or The Prince of Wales.
King George V whiskies are handcrafted from rare whiskies produced in distilleries that operated during the reign of King George V (1930 to 1936).
A 750 ml bottle of the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Year of the Ram Special Release retails for $258 USD (750 ml/bottle), while the King George V anniversary edition retails for $494 USD.
