Famed Italian designer Giorgio Armani has revealed his collection for the Italian Olympic athletes.

Called the EA7 Emporio Armani range, the designer set out to incorporate comfort into the range, saying he found it "intriguing" to design a sports collection.

"Stepping outside my fashion comfort zone and leaving my ego to identify myself in a sportsman's mentality is something that intrigues me a lot," he told Women's Wear Daily.

The kit includes asymmetric white and midnight blue pieces for the various sporting disciplines and also includes running shoes, shorts, suitcases, tracksuits and a nylon jacket.

Armani has demonstrated that detail is important to him by include the Italian national anthem in the designs. The first verse "Fratelli d'Italia", is emblazoned under the collar of the polo shirts, while the entire anthem is written in gold inside all jackets and sweatshirts.
