'Umbrella' singer Rihanna opts for a flattering sarong to accentuate her shapely legs when she is relaxing in the sunshine.

The 21-year-old beauty said: "I like wearing a bikini with a cover-up that is loose, not too long and a little bit sheer."

Rihanna makes sure her body is beach ready before a holiday by participating in exercise classes to tone up.

She revealed: "If I know I'm going on vacation, I'll do Pilates for two weeks straight."

Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian ensures her butt is in perfect condition before she dons a bikini by hitting the treadmill amongst other things.

The reality TV star, who is famous for her full-sized derriere, has a special exercise regime to prepare herself for putting on swimwear.

She explained: "I love to put the treadmill on maximum incline and run backward. "It's good to switch it up — run forward for 10 minutes, then backward for 10 minutes. Repeat for 40 minutes total and you'll really see results in your booty."

When asked for tips on choosing the perfect bikini, Kim believes it is important to be able to control the amount of flesh you flash.

The curvy 28-year-old added to Life and Style Weekly magazine: "I prefer to wear tie bottoms."

Kim isn't the only star to offer advice on beachwear.

Elle Macpherson is "grateful" to be nicknamed 'The Body'. The supermodel-turned-designer insists the tag she was given in honour of her curvy figure has helped her get ahead with her business ventures.

She said: "'The Body' is my brand, it's been a wonderful gift. I've used that moniker to my advantage and I'm incredibly grateful for the people who still perpetuate it."

The Australian beauty also credited her nationality for giving her the characteristics needed to succeed with her underwear line.

She added: "I'm curious — and perhaps somewhat forward-thinking, somewhat entrepreneurial, in that I can think outside the box. I think a lot of that as to do with being Australian.

"We have to be creative because while we have lots of natural resources, we don't have the resource of a huge population and being close to the rest of the world. So we tend to take risks."

Despite her extensive experience in the fashion industry, Elle (46) insists she still has a lot to learn.

She told Britain's Guardian newspaper: "I'm the creative director of my company and it's my baby. I'm the only person in this business who's been here for 20 years. I know it like the back of my hand, and yet I'm always humble enough to be taught things by other people."

Lily Allen has a £6000 dress she has only worn three times. The 'Fear' singer prefers wearing casual clothes she feels comfortable in, and will only get her dressier items out of the wardrobe for special occasions.

Asked how she decides what to wear, Lily replied: "There are generally three factors — what's clean, what's going to make me feel fat and ugly, and how many photographers are there outside my house?

"Usually I'll just wear trousers and a T-shirt or a dress for meetings. I've only worn my £6000 Prada dress three times so far."

The 24-year-old star has also hit out at those who have criticised her for losing weight, claiming she decided to get in shape to make her feel better about herself not because she thought it would improve her career prospects.

She told Britain's Elle magazine: "People have had a go at me for suddenly deserting the feminist cause because I went to the gym. I f**king hate it! I'm really lazy. I like sitting or lying down.

"I don't care about endorphins or looking better. Actually, that last bit is a lie. I do want to look better, but I'm not going to torture myself about it. I just don't think girls or women should hate themselves for not living up to the ideal."

Lindsay Lohan's wardrobe is so full her sister doesn't bother bringing any clothes when she stays with her.

Ali Lohan (15) has revealed her mother Dina always laughs when she goes to see Lindsay as she travels so lightly.

She explained to America's OK magazine: "When I go to visit her in Los Angeles, I don't even bring a suitcase. My mom is like, 'Where's your suitcase?' And I'm like, 'Mom, seriously, have you seen her closet? I don't need one!' "

Lindsay has her own range of range of leggings called 6126, and has worked as a model for Italian clothing company Fornarina, Jill Stuart, Miu Miu, and Dooney and Bourke.

She has previously said she knows people judge her by what she wears, claiming they think her mental state is reflected in the outfits she chooses.

Lindsay said: "If I'm dressing down and look untidy people always think something bad is going on. But if I'm in heels and a great top, suddenly I'm back on board again. It's ridiculous.

"Sometimes people say that I wear too many leggings, but I don't care. I've always been pretty trapped into my sense of style and that's always been important."

Word on the street is that Angelina Jolie had to put off a dress fitting after the outfits were stolen.

Los Angeles stylist Jennifer Rade had three containers of high-end clothes taken on the 16th of July, a day before she was due to showcase them to the 34-year-old actress.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Angelina was just starting the fitting process for pieces to wear when she begins promoting 'Salt'.

"Every designer who was sending pieces was trying to send their best stuff."

'Salt' — in which Angelina plays Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent who is accused of being a Russian spy — is slated for release next year.

Angelina recently revealed she doesn't pay too much attention to her clothes, and is happy as long as what she is wearing is comfortable.

She said: "I don't think too much about what to wear on the red carpet. I usually have three basic colours and I get the same shapes in different colours!

"But I like to get dressed up and feel like a lady every once in a while."

Jourdan Dunn is expecting her first child. The 18-year-old British model — who can currently be seen in advertisements for Yves Saint Laurent's La Nuit de L'Homme perfume — is five-and-a-half months pregnant, and both her and her boyfriend are looking forward to the arrival of the baby in December.

Jourdan confirmed to Vogue.com: "I'm really looking forward to the future and having my baby. I'm lucky — I'm feeling really well. I'm healthy and happy!"

A spokesperson for Storm, Jourdan's modelling agency, added she has been overwhelmed by the amount of support and kind wishes she has received.

The representative said: "Jourdan is delighted and really excited. She's had lots of lovely personal messages of support from all her friends in the fashion industry and it's great news. We wish her all the best."

Jourdan — who became the first black model to star in a show for Prada for 10 years in 2008 — is the latest in a string of models to announce they are expecting.

Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima and Karolina Kurkova are all due to welcome new arrivals into the world in the coming months.

Karolina, who is believed to be around six months pregnant with her first child with her filmmaker fiance Archie Drury, recently said she was glad so many models are expecting as she thinks it sends out a positive message.

She said: "It's a nice thing showing that we are real women and we are normal and healthy and that's why we can get pregnant. And we're growing up. We're not 17 or 18. We're becoming women and becoming moms."
