Katy Perry's fashion sense is inspired by 'Clueless'. The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer loves the look Alicia Silverstone sported in the '90s comedy movie in which she played airhead matchmaker Cher Horowitz which included knee-high socks, cardigans in pastel shades, belly tops and mini-kilts.
Katy explained: "'Clueless' was a fabulous inspiration to me in the '90s! So were Shirley Manson, a young Gwen Stefani, Madonna and Courtney Love. Now I idolise Dita Von Teese, Agyness Deyn, Bjork, Natalia Vodianova, and always Lolita."
The 24-year-old singer is famed for her outrageous style both on and off the stage she wore a black and pink Hello Kitty corset and black PVC leggings to this year's BRIT Awards in London but refuses to tone down her look.
Katy claims there is nothing she would rule out wearing, and doesn't find her past fashion mistakes embarrassing.
She told vogue.com: "I've tried a lot of looks and still continue to do so. I take lots of chances. Sometimes people are inspired and sometimes, confused. I never regret much of anything, though I think everything I have tried, for better or worse, has been a creative expression of what I was feeling at that moment in life.
"You wear the look, don't let the look wear you. It's all about having self-confidence, which helps you pull off anything."
Marilyn Monroe wore a "complicated" Wonderbra-style bra to boost her cleavage.
The iconic actress enhanced her 36D chest using a complex double-cupped, multi-strapped undergarment, which has been described as an early version of the famous asset-boosting bra.
The bra is one of several items being auctioned in London on Saturday (18.07.09).
Richard Davie, of International Autograph Auctions, said: "We're expecting a lot of excitement and interest from fans.
"The bra looks very complicated at first glance and it actually has four cups inside it sort of like an early Wonderbra.
"There's an inner cup which is almost hidden, which would support her chest as normal. But then there's another larger cup about an inch further out, to give the impression she had a bigger chest."
The garment is expected to fetch £2000 at the sale, while a pair of Marilyn's Christian Dior silk stockings could sell for around £1200.
Kim Kardashian has shown off her new "creepy" vampire make-up. The brunette reality TV star bizarrely decided to swap her usual bronzing products for a ghoulish pale look even hiding her dark eyebrows for the 'Twilight' inspired makeover.
Below a picture of her face, Kim wrote on her official blog on the 15th of July: "Since vampires are all the rage right now, Troy Jensen and I thought it would be cool to try out a more gothic, almost sinister look!
"This look was inspired by Prada's fall 2009 runway show and it is so unlike anything I've ever done! And no, I didn't actually get rid of my eyebrows, haha. Troy used an eyebrow concealing wax to hide them!
"Pretty creepy, right? I call this my 'Twilight' look! What do you think? (sic)"
Kim is not afraid to experiment with new looks. In April, the 28-year-old beauty renowned for having a shapely butt ditched her trademark long, dark locks and went blonde.
However, Kim quickly reassured worried fans she hadn't dyed her hair and was just wearing a wig.
Liv Tyler uses lipstick as blusher. The stunning actress loves the colour she gets on her cheeks from her lipstick, and says it has the added benefit of staying on longer than normal blush.
She said: "I use lipstick as a blusher, especially if I'm wearing a pink shade. Just press the colour into your cheeks so it looks like a stain. I like wearing pink lipstick as, unlike red, you can still apply it after a few cocktails."
Liv also uses a lip brush and foundation to conceal any spots.
Sienna Miller "never" exercises. The stunning actress who is famed for her svelte figure insists she doesn't do much to maintain her enviable body as she believes it's much more important to enjoy life.
She said: "Honestly, I never go to the gym. I'm sort of lazy. I think it's my attitude. I just want to have confidence in what I do and enjoy my life. Believe it or not, I am not high maintenance so I don't do much for my skin or body."
Sienna who is often voted one of the world's most beautiful women also revealed she no different other women as she usually thinks she looks horrible when she wakes up.
She added to Britain's OK! magazine: "Most mornings I don't feel fabulous and glamorous when I wake! I'd love to meet a woman that does, though. I don't think I have ever met one who does. If you're on holiday and you've got a bit of a tan, it's easy just to roll out of bed. But living in the climate that we live in, in the depths of winter, it's hard to wake up feeling anything except just cave in!"
Scarlett Johansson's first advert campaign for Mango has been released. The Hollywood beauty sizzles in a series of sultry images for the Spanish retailer's Autumn/Winter 09 collection.
In one shot, Scarlett is seen posing provocatively with tousled bobbed blonde hair and a bee-sting pout as she drapes herself over a leather coach wearing an '80s-inspired grey micro-mini dress, leopard-print coat and towering heels.
In a black and white picture, the 24-year-old star smoulders in skinny jeans and a vest as she leans against a wall, propping one studded high heeled foot on a chair.
In another shot, Scarlett is seen lying on her back sporting punk-inspired ripped black tights, a zebra print vest and an oversized grey cardigan.
Katherine Heigl hates using a stylist. The 'Grey's Anatomy' beauty prefers to dress herself for most events she attends because she doesn't enjoy the way fashion stylists fuss over her.
She told America's InStyle magazine: "If it's the Emmy Awards or the Oscars I need a little extra help, but I just like to do myself because I don't like all the hoopla.
"Inevitably it's me who knows what I want. When I leave the house. I want to look in the mirror and go, 'I feel like the best version of myself in this.'"
The 30-year-old actress recently admitted she always thinks she looks good. Katherine said: "I always assume I look better than I actually do. I'll feel pretty good about myself when I leave the house, then I'll see a picture and think, 'C**p, I had no idea that's what I was looking like.' "
