Sensuous Penelope Cruz doesn't "waste time" thinking about clothes. The Hollywood star — who along with her sister Monica has designed lines and modelled for Spanish high street chain Mango — admits she is only ever concerned about her choice of outfit if she is gracing a red carpet event.

She is quoted as saying: "We have to use these dresses and things for the premieres and all of that.

"I think every woman likes clothes but I don't waste a lot of time on that. I don't like doing long fittings and putting a lot of time into that."

Penelope also doesn't spend time worrying about losing her looks with age. The 35-year-old brunette beauty recently revealed she admires actresses in their 60s and 70s who have managed to grow old gracefully.

She said: "Age holds absolutely no fear for me. I'm working with Dame Judi Dench on my film 'Nine'. When she's in a room, it's as if she has a light bulb inside her. She lights it up!

"People like Meryl Streep and Sophia Loren. Sophia is 74 and amazing — every time I talk to her, she's full of wonderful stories about old actors. We've become very good friends. There's so much enjoyment ahead for us all."

Kylie Minogue on the other hand gets a "kick" out of smelling other people wearing her perfume.

The 41-year-old singer admits it's quite thrilling when she discovers somebody is using one of her fragrances and can smell it on them when she walks into a room.

Kylie — who has launched Daring and Showtime — said: "I can walk into a room and go, 'Woah, you're wearing Showtime.' It's a thrill to smell your perfumes, a total kick. It's like hearing your song on the radio, or a story, like, 'We played your songs at our wedding.' The human element is the ultimate buzz."

Kylie's fragrances have become a huge hit and she thinks her success is down to the fact she is happy in her personal life.

The 'Wow' singer is rumoured to be engaged to Spanish model Andres Velencoso.

Elizabeth Taylor has ordered 28 hats from the same designer. The Hollywood legend recently placed the order with royal milliner Philip Treacy, after she was impressed with his quick response to her fashion query.

Treacy revealed: "Her assistant called me up asking for hair pin and I sent her a message back asking if she wanted a hat to go with it. It turns out that she did — she wanted lots of them!"

Taylor asked the hat creator to meet her at a London hotel so he could show off his designs — and while he picked hats for her to wear, the 81-year-old screen star entertained him with songs and cocktails.

Treacy explained: "We spent two evenings at her suite at The Dorchester hotel fitting them, looking in the mirror. She even sang a song for us and ordered us cocktails. She doesn't need an excuse to buy that many, she invented celebrity extravagance."

Taylor isn't the only star to request a Treacy hat recently. Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Princess Eugenie both sported creations by the exclusive designer at the Ascot horse races this week.

The Irish-born milliner also designed the infamous peacock hat that Sarah Jessica Parker wore to the UK premiere of the 'Sex and the City' movie last year. Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham is also a fan.

Michelle Pfeiffer has credited good lighting with looking young. The 51-year-old actress — who is renowned for her youthful looks — knows the importance of making friends with the lighting director when shooting a movie as they will then make sure they use flattering settings and angles.

She said: "The whole thing to looking great in films is your lighting.

"If they have the right light on you, it makes no difference what face creams you use because they can make bags under your eyes disappear and all the lines on your cheek go away. This is what can age you 20 years or take 20 years off. Any of us know to make friends with the lighting director, that's the guy who's your best friend in making a movie."

Michelle also revealed she was stunned when a reporter asked how she felt having an old body.

The 'Cheri' star said: "She asked, 'How does it feel to have an old and decrepit body?' And at first I didn't understand her, I was like, 'Sorry, did you just say I had an old and decrepit body?' and she was like, 'Ja (yes). How does it feel?' "

Jessica Simpson's new perfume has been inspired by boyfriend Tony Romo. The 'With You' singer — who recently launched new fragrance Fancy Love — wanted the scent to represent how happy she is in her relationship with the American footballer.

Vince Camuto — CEO of the Camuto Group, which develops Jessica's beauty range — said: "It is a fresh, new expression of Jessica's lifestyle. She is loved and in love." Jessica — who was previously married to singer Nick Lachey — collaborated on the "timeless, romantic fragrance of falling in love" with a team of professional perfumers and wanted a sensual smell that represented her personality.

Sources say Jessica (28) has a lot more confidence in her abilities and herself now she is with Tony and really enjoyed the process.

One said: "Tony brings out the best in Jessica. She is over caring about what everyone thinks."

Becki Newton refuses to take fashion seriously. The 'Ugly Betty' star — who plays clothes-obsessed receptionist Amanda in the hit US show — says she likes to have fun with her look and wouldn't want her life ruled by having the latest trends.

She said: "I read fashion magazines all the time. It's fun, but I don't take it very seriously. I find if you take hair, make-up and clothes too seriously, you'll become like Amanda — and that's a cautionary tale!"

However, Becki admits she enjoys being given free clothes and accessories by designers.

She told Britain's Look magazine: "As an actress, one of the perks is having access to ridiculously expensive clothing and prancing around on the red carpet. Who wouldn't want to have fun with that?

"I've managed to get some beautiful bags. I have a great collection and so does my mother. My favourite is a purple one by Gucci, which I take everywhere!"

Dolce and Gabbana are set to launch their online store today (23.06.09). The Italian fashion house's site, www.dandgstore.com, will sell clothes, accessories, beachwear, eyewear and jewellery, which will be available to 31 countries worldwide.

Speaking about the website, Stefano Gabbana told WWD.com: "The online boutique is like a game. It's a fun and immediate way to shop, without space or time limitations. We are confident it will get people even closer to D and G's dynamic universe."

The news comes just days after the designers — whose celebrity fans include Kylie Minogue, Victoria Beckham and Naomi Campbell — announced they were cutting their prices by up to 20 percent.

Gabbana admitted people were less willing to part with their hard-earned cash during the current economic climate so have slashed the costs of their sought-after designs.

He said: "The first thing people say these days when they walk into a store is, 'Nice, but how much?' In this moment of uncertainty, people spend more willingly on travel or spas rather than on a new dress. We want to work for the final consumer."

Domenico Dolce added: "The idea is to peel off the superfluous because there are too many clothes, too many seasons, too much advertising, too much of everything that is tacked onto the final price. We want to go back to how things were 20 years ago. It's about drawing the line. This is the only way to save the market and our companies. It's time to turn the page."

Helena Christensen has defended Alexandra Shulman's size-zero rant. The supermodel-turned-photographer has spoken out in support of the British Vogue magazine editor's decision to complain to the world's leading fashion brands for favouring the tiny, skeletal look.

Helena said: "It's about time somebody takes action. Obviously I am of the same belief. Aren't we in a business that is supposed to explore all kinds of shapes and silhouettes?"

Instead, the 40-year-old beauty believes the fashion industry needs to focus on healthy, natural body images.

She added to Britain's Independent newspaper: "The original supermodels all had shape and photography in the past was all about the organic, sensual shape of bodies."

Alexandra — a highly-influential fashion figure — surprised many with her recent letter which accused designers of pushing models to lose more weight from their small frames.

According to The Times newspaper, the strongly-worded letter accuses designers of supplying "miniscule" sample garments to magazines for photoshoots, and causing them to hire extra-skinny models with "jutting bones and no breasts or hips". She complained Vogue were regularly forced to retouch images to give them extra curves.
