Jean Paul Gaultier thinks John Galliano needs to "come back" to fashion.
The French designer hopes the disgraced former Dior head - who was caught making anti-Semitic marks on a number of occasions while drunk - will be reinstated by the fashion world at some point because he is "super-talented".
He said: "I'm waiting for John to come back. Because he's super-talented and we love him. I think he cannot stop like that."
However, Jean is happy with his replacement at Dior, Raf Simons because he thinks he is a very "talented" sartorialist.
He told Britain's InStyle magazine: "It's the best idea to have Hedi Slimane for YSL - it's fabulous. And Raf Simons - he's so talented. When I saw his last collection for Jil Sander I thought, 'Ahh, he wants it! He will do it!'"
Discussing who he has most liked dressing, Jean reveals British actress, Gemma Arterton, has been amongst his most favourite.
He said: "Gemma Arterton is fabulous. I met her at Elton John's winter ball. She's great and I loved the Stephen Frears movie she was in, Tamara Drewe.
