Patti LaBelle once said: "So if diva means giving your best, then yes, I guess I am a diva"
The Mother City is about to be hit with Diva Fever for it's fourth consecutive year and this time around we have one of the most famous artists of the 80's.
World-renowned singer Judy Boucher will be blowing Cape Town by storm alongside our very own finest diva's Karin Kortje, Sasha-Lee Davids, Mady and Salome Damons at the Divas Cape Town 2012: The Tribute Show ft. Judy Boucher on 29 September 2012.
Coming from all walks of life, these five powerful women have stopped at nothing to make the best of their talent which is none other than singing and having fans jumping from their seats.
Brief background of each artist:
- Caribbean born singing sensation Judy Boucher's first solo song Dreaming Of A Little Island became a hit on the reggae charts in 1985. Two years later, her single Can't Be With You Tonight became an international hit.
- Karin Kortje was the winner of the third season of Mnet Idols with her single I'm So Ready. The Grabouw born singing sensation received the most votes and was thus the most popular contestant during the entire Idols competition.
- Born-and-bred in Atlantis, Sasha-Lee Davids was the co-winner of Mnet Idols Season 5. Following the success of her Idol's journey, her family started their own reality show, Huis van Davids.
- Popular for her hit single, What I Do Best, Salome Damone is Mitchells Plain's or rather Cape Town's own Tina Turner.
- Despite her always being geared up in police uniform, Constable Madalene Abrahams aka Mady has a voice just as powerful as the late Whitney Houston. Mady was the runner-up in the popular SA's Got Talent show in 2010.
